Teen rivalry in a small, southern town comes to life in DeSales Catholic High School’s upcoming production of S. E. Hinton’s The Outsiders. Set in rural Oklahoma in 1965, this dramatic interpretation by Christopher Sergel is seen through the eyes of young Ponyboy, a Greaser on the wrong side of life. The drama centers on the ongoing conflict between the underprivileged Greasers and the rich kid Socs in rural Oklahoma. When a territorial battle goes horribly awry, Ponyboy and his friends have to grow up very quickly with nothing going for them but their hope and their friends. Over 35 students are involved with the production that will perform at the Walla Walla Community College China Pavilion. Performances are December 9 and 10 at 7:30 PM, and December 10 and 11 at 2pm. Tickets are available through the DeSales office, or at the door 1 hour before performances. Tickets are $10 general admission, and $7 staff/students.
