DON’T MISS IT! Walla Walla Alliance for the Homeless: June 14, Tues, 7-8:30 pm, John of the Cross room, St. Patrick’s: The Tri-Parish Social Concerns Ministry is sponsoring a DVD presentation by Rev. Dan Bryant about Opportunity Village, a successful community of tiny homes for the homeless in Eugene, Oregon. Representatives from the WW Alliance for the Homeless will be present to discuss their proposed plans for similar transitional mini-houses for the homeless in Walla Walla at Madison Park, 708 W. Pine. They will explain different ways interested community members can help.

A HUGE THANK YOU to Kay Barga and all the volunteers for distributing 8,591 pounds of food to 109 households. Assumption, St. Patrick’s, and St. Francis parishes together donated $1000 to enable the Second Harvest Mobile Food Bank to provide food that was distributed at Assumption Church on June 1. 15 adult volunteers, 2 Boy Scouts, and 8 Assumption 6th graders donated 30 hours of volunteer time! In the words of Pope Francis, “To change the world we must be good to those who can’t repay us.”

Fair Trade Coffee: Buy delicious, organic, Fair Trade Coffee and chocolate from Judy & Chris Pinney. The local farmers, not the middlemen, get most of the profit. CRS also gets a small percentage to sponsor self help projects around the world. wwpinneys@gmail.com

Tri-Parish Community Garden: Every Tuesday evening, 5:30-dusk, volunteers will work and harvest food from the garden to be distributed to food banks and homeless shelters. The garden is behind the Assumption rectory.

Walla Walla Churches provide Daily lunches for the hungry: If you’d like to help the Congregational Church prepare and serve lunch on Wednesdays, one hour shifts, 11 am-1:30 pm, contact Beth Call, trollshouse@bmi.net. 529-0216.
