SERRA DEVOTIONS FOR NOVEMBER:
PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS AND OTHER FAITHS
The Church Militant, following Christ her head, must endure suffering that leads to the Resurrection. Paul proclaims in Romans 8 that no amount of persecution, famine, peril or sword could separate us from the love of God in Christ. Every Christian call, in some way, leads us through suffering and martyrdom — whether physical, mental, or spiritual. In the face of fear, we need courage and trust in God. Through the world’s turmoil and tears, Christ Our Savior and King, will triumph, and bring about peace, love and eternal happiness. Our communion of faith and prayer, together with our priests, deacons, sisters, bishops, and pope, will build a stronger church and lead us to holiness.
