Pope Francis: “How can it be that it is not news when an elderly homeless person dies of exposure but it is news when the stock market loses two points?”
Helping the Homeless in WW: The WW Alliance for the Homeless and the City of Walla Walla are working together to provide a temporary campground for homeless folks who can not find shelter elsewhere. Donations of two person and multi-person tents are needed for the GOTR campground next to the golf course which the City of Walla Walla has authorized for temporary homeless camping.
All-weather tents are preferred, but any tents, with rain flaps, in good condition are welcome. Some temporary residents are sleeping unsheltered on the ground. Contact Beth Call regarding donations of either equipment or funds for this purpose. Checks should be written to the Walla Walla Alliance for the Homeless, designating tents. Donations are tax deductible. Beth: 529-0216, firstname.lastname@example.org
