Catholic Social Concerns Ministry

Pope Francis: “There can be no renewal of our relationship with nature without a renewal of humanity itself. What kind of world do we want to leave to those coming after us, to children who are now growing up? The question not only concerns the environment in isolation. It cannot be approached piecemeal.”

Caring for Creation: Carry your own water bottle. Help decrease the amount of plastic which often ends up in streams and the ocean, toxic to animal and human life.

Giving Tree: Last call to help provide much needed school supplies! Please bring designated items back next week. The children and teenagers are waiting! Feed the Hungry: Please remember to bring nonperishable food items or a check written to BMAC Food Bank. Donations tend to decrease in summer but hunger does not.

Tri-Parish Community Garden at Assumption Church: Every Tuesday evening, 5:30-dusk, volunteers are welcomed to work and harvest produce from the garden to be distributed to workers, food banks, and homeless shelters.

St. Vincent de Paul: St. Vincent’s could use some more volunteers: If you are interested in helping with the food bank or in some other way, please contact Skip Lane or Jerry Anhorn at St. Vincent de Paul, 525-3903. “Whatever you do for one of these, the least of my brothers and sisters, you do unto me.” Matthew 25:40.
